What is Baithak?

​Baithak is an old word for a sitting — the front room where people gather, talk late into the evening, and let the conversation wander wherever it wants. No stage, no agenda. Just good company and better chai.

​That's all this is. A small group — founders, operators, researchers, the odd evangelist — around one table over desi food. No pitching, no panels, no name tags. Real talk on whatever's on your mind, with India and AI usually somewhere in the mix.

​What started as one table has quietly travelled — we've now done Baithaks across continents: SF, Boston, Paris, London, Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Chicago, and more. Same spirit every time, wherever there's a room and a few driven minds in it.

​These come together fast — never more than 12 hours' notice — and stay deliberately small.

​And the short notice is half the magic. There's something about a last-minute yes — no time to overthink it, no calendar tetris, just "I'm free, let's do this." Some of the warmest evenings I've had were the ones nobody saw coming. You show up as you are, straight from your day, chai in hand, and somehow that's exactly when the real conversations happen.
