About Event

many people, especially from indigenous cultures, work with their human ancestors. what if we called in our pre-human ancestors?

in this ritual, we’ll be traversing millions of years of evolutionary ecology through the somatic work of yoga mindfulness to fully integrate the magnitude of the miracle that it is to be alive—cultivating a natural sense of luck and awe in the process.

"I've long dreamed of using magic to move objects with my mind. The older I get, the more I know my dream is fulfilled each time I pick up my cup. What is a body? A spell billions of years in the making. Soil and storms, the fruit of forests and phytoplankton. How well familiarity masks our magic." - Jarod K Anderson

frequently asked questions:

🦠 can i still come if i just want to sit and enjoy the meditative space? — yes!

🐛 do i need a yoga mat? — yes, please bring yours. if you don’t, i have 3 extras but you need to contact me at least 4hrs prior to this event so i can arrange that for you

🐊 what if i can’t meditate and haven’t enjoyed yoga classes much before? — you may actually need this more than most. you may identify being queer and/or neurodivergent. if so, i teach for folks like you. still, not every teacher is for everyone so listen to your body.

🐳 what if i’m not flexible? — this idea is capitalist & patriarchal propaganda! each and every body has the ability to receive yoga's benefits, which is why i teach in an accessible way, offering multiple options as we go along. anyway, body exercises are just a small slice of the entirety of yoga.
