Tenner 5: Torpedo Throwdown!
The classic is back! First run in 2012 to celebrate the completion of Torpedo Run, the Throwdown returns. Grab your crew or ride solo and stack up as many laps as you can!
Race Circuit:
Climb: Anyway you want. Middle Earth, Switchbacks, and Push Up are all a go
Descent: Torpedo!
This Tenner's Costume Theme: PIRATES 🏴☠️ Break out yer finest pirate garb: eye patches, bandanas, and whatever ye’ve got stashed in the treasure chest. Attire is encouraged, but no one’s walkin’ the plank if ye skip it
Here is how it works:
Riders will arrive and check in at Hartland Upper parking lot
We'll all ride up to the base of Middle Earth together.
Riders will be released and have two hours to complete their Torpedo laps. Racers in teams complete the course relay style.
You can race alone or in teams. If you are racing in a team, each team member registers individually. Just make sure you all use the same team name when signing up!
Schedule:
9:00am - 9:30am — Check in & registration in Hartland
9:30am - 9:35am — Pre-race briefing
9:35am — Head up to Torpedo circuit
10:00am- 12:00pm — Race!
12:30 — Return to lot for Après & podiums
Parking: Parking and registration in the Upper Hartland Mountain Bike Park parking lot

Post race pizza celebration in the Hartland lot 🍕🎉 Riders exchange their racing bibs for food tickets at the lot.
What is a Tenner? A Tenner is a $10 community focused race — an awesome series to get introduced to racing, meet fellow community members, and ride some of the South Island's best trails! Entry fee covers your racing cost and includes post-race food (meat, veggie, and vegan options available, gluten free on request).
