Beyond the World Cup: A Morning with Street Soccer USA
On June 25th, we're bringing together a group of Bay Area leaders and supporters to celebrate the role that soccer plays for young people in low-income and underresourced communities. Come learn more about Street Soccer USA: Bay Area and hear from coaches and other community leaders about the way that soccer is helping revitalize projects in San Francisco including in the Tenderloin and East Cut.
About SSUSA:
Since 2009, Street Soccer USA has been fighting poverty and strengthening communities through soccer, one player, one coach, one neighborhood at a time. Today we serve more than 8,000 players across 16 cities, with free, community-based programs that level the playing field for kids in the most underserved neighborhoods across the country.
This year, more than 700 young people and families across San Francisco and Oakland participated in our free programs, in neighborhoods like the Tenderloin, Mission, Bayview, Fruitvale, and East Oakland. These are kids who have a coach who shows up for them, a team that counts on them, and a program that builds real skills on and off the field.
