About Event

Coined in the 1970s by psychologist Dorothy Tennov, limerence is that heightened state of romantic infatuation — the intrusive thoughts, the idealized fantasy, the desperate longing for reciprocation. In this talk we'll get clear on the difference between obsession and love, unpack the psychology of why some of us get hooked on chronic yearning, and walk through what actually helps you climb out of the fantasy and back into your own life.

Format — 1 hour on Zoom:

  • Short presentation on the topic

  • Q&A

  • Group discussion on limerence with guided prompts

  • Personal journaling exercises to take home

All slides and materials will be sent out afterward, so you can revisit everything on your own time.
