Redesign Session: Usability
In this "fishbowl" conversation, we will address a key Hylo redesign priority: Usability.
This means plugging all bugs and ensuring the UX is fast, smooth, and easeful, with performance and reliability to match leading social apps.
The call is part of our first phase of the Redesign Collabathon, with a series of 4 calls in late June in the format of “Fishbowls” that are open to all Hylo stakeholders. In each call, Hylo’s Product team will gather for an exploratory conversation on one of the redesign priorities. The first 30 minutes of the call will be like a panel discussion with only the team members speaking. Then the second half of the call will open up for reactions, ideas, and discussion from all participants. The insights that emerge from these conversations will deeply impact our product direction and feed directly into the design process for this phase. We hope you will join us!
For this call we will evaluate these hypotheses and develop ideas and experiments for how to test them:
Hypotheses:
Eliminating certain features will streamline Hylo and make it more fun to use
A fast, simple app will boost retention & growth
Animations, sparkle, magic transitions will increase retention
Reducing load time to less than 4 seconds will increase usage dramatically (x amount)
Making posting easier will increase engagement by x amount
Being able to open the app and immediately see/send chats will lead to more retention
Notifications leading to correct content will boost retention
If we fix all the usability bugs, users will use Hylo more
