Lights, Builds & Desi : A Diwali Social for London's Asian Community
Diwali is a celebration of light, new beginnings, and coming home. This year, BuildHer Labs, Kasa Cafe and Occasia are bringing together the founders, builders, creatives, and community-makers shaping London from the inside.
No pitches. No panels. Just good food, music, and conversations that might actually go somewhere.

🍛 6:00–7:00 pm | The Snack Hour
Arrive hungry. Grab a plate and a drink, enjoy the music, and settle in. A festive photo corner and a curated showcase of South Asian founders’ products will be open all evening.
🧡 7:00–7:15 pm | Lighting the Room
A warm welcome from BuildHer Labs, Kasa Cafe, and Occasia: who we are, why we’re gathering, and why you belong here. Then join Artists’ Apothecary to make a bright, colourful, glittery mask. Match your outfit or go wonderfully avant-garde. No artistic skills needed.
✨ 7:15–8:00 pm | The Hunger Games
A light-hearted quiz, a flower bouquet-making workshop with Fleurie Bloom Bar, and drop-in games to get strangers talking and friends competing.
🕯️ From 8:00 pm | Dance Like the Deal Is Done
The DJ turns up, the dance floor opens, and the food keeps coming. Stay as long as you like. There’s also space for a local performer, artist, or South Asian founder to share something they’ve made or built.
Come for the food. Stay for the people. Leave with a new contact, a collaboration, or simply a really good night. ✨
