Birds-más: An English-Spanish bilingual bird walk in Central Park
Get ready, Chirpers and Quirksters— this one is going to be so fun. 🦆
Birds-más is a bilingual (English + Spanish) bird walk designed for total beginners in everything — birds, Spanish, English, or just being outside learning with community.
Whether you’re a native English speaker learning Spanish, a native Spanish speaker learning English, or someone who just wants to be part of a silly, educational, welcoming space… my event is for you!!
I’ll be guiding the entire walk in English, then repeating everything in Spanish thereafter. Spanish is my third language, so I’ll be trying my very best — and embracing mistakes right alongside you. That’s part of the fun and the heart of all Quirky Bird Girl walks!
🌈 What Makes Birds-más Special
This is a neurodivergent-friendly, judgment-free, community-centered event filled with learning, laughter, and lots of quacking.
We’ll meet in front of The Met, then head into Central Park with hopes of seeing some fabulous ducks and winter favorites like:
🦆 Northern Shovelers
🦆 Bufflehead
🦆 Mallards
🦆 Hooded Mergansers
… and many more birdie besties!
Just like all That Quirky Bird Girl events, this walk is about more than spotting birds — it’s about connecting with nature, with each other, and with ourselves. Expect fun facts, silly impressions, approachable learning, and a truly warm community.
✨ What to Expect
🌿 A guided walk through mid-Central Park
We’ll explore both ground-level and tree-top bird activity while learning where different species like to hang out. If you’re into learning bird calls, we’ll do some “chirp-chasing” by ear too!
🦆 Likely sightings include:
Buffleheads, hooded mergansers, mallards, white-throated sparrows, blue jays, and if the bird gods smile upon us… a northern cardinal.
💬 Community vibes, bilingual style
All information will be shared in English and Spanish. Curiosity and kindness are the only requirements — no language perfection needed.
💛 A safe, joyful space
Newbies welcome. Neurodivergent-friendly. Silly impressions encouraged.
