About Event

Clozure™ is Austin's buzzy new death-tech startup that helps people pre-plan for and navigate all things end-of-life.

We host a casual 'Death Cafe' at our office on E.12th Street in East Austin on the 3rd Thursday of every month to talk about the only certainty in life...

This is an opportunity to meet other death-curious friends in your community, ask questions, get questions answered, and ponder the great unknown in a calm, intimate salon setting.

There is no agenda; conversations happen organically and can potentially cover a wide variety of topics, tips, and tomes.

Please note that while some attendees occasionally discuss difficulties navigating loss in their own lives, this is NOT a grief support group, but it is a safe, supportive space to foster death-positive conversations and draw on the perspective and experience of others.

We believe that by confronting death, people can lead much more fulfilling, productive lives. Past attendees have included Death Doulas, Hospice Nurses, Filmmakers, Celebrity Funeral Directors, Artists, Lawyers, and 'regular Joes'.

Space is limited, and we usually have a waitlist, so in the spirit of fairness, if you have reserved a seat and then no-show, you will be blocked from future events. Things come up...we understand, just kindly change your reservation status on the platform so we can offer the seat to our waitlist. :)

We usually have plentiful street parking available. We look forward to meeting everyone!
