The Not Born Here Running Club is Vienna Würstelstand's weekly social run for internationals, newcomers, internationally-minded locals and basically anyone who wants to meet good people while moving through the city.
And to be clear: this is a social club disguised as exercise. Meet good people while moving, kinda thing.
Every Thursday at 18:30, we'll meet somewhere in Vienna and head out together for an easy 5-ish km run through the city.
No PB bullshit. No need to own a crazy expensive running watch.
We run together. Which brings us to...
THERE'S ONE RULE.
Try us out first. Join us for your first couple of runs and see if the club feels like your kind of people. If you decide to stick around, we ask you to grab the club shirt (€35) and run in it with the crew. Because if we run like a team, we dress like one.
Not because we're trying to become a cult (we're pretty sure).
Because we want to run through Vienna looking like one big fucking team - because we are a fucking team.
The shirt is your uniform, your membership card and your way of spotting another Not Born Here runner somewhere in the city.
About the post-run drink...
We'll always finish somewhere we can stick around for a beer, Spritzer, coffee, strawberry milkshake or whatever you're into and actually get to know the people you've just been sweating with.
THE DETAILS
WHEN: Every Thursday, 18:30
WHERE: Somewhere in Vienna – meeting point announced before each run (in events posted here on Luma) - this time in front of the Ototo coffee store in the 2nd district.
DISTANCE: Around 5 km
PACE: Social. This isn't a race.
COST: free. but we do strongly encourage u to get the official NBH shirt after you’ve decided to join!
AFTER: Drinks food hanging out somewhere nearby
WHO: Internationals, immigrants, internationally minded local Austrians (yes, you're very welcome too!) and anyone else who gets what this is about
Oh, and come alone if ya want. Seriously.
The entire point is that you don't need to already know somebody.
You might have been in Vienna for three weeks or thirteen years. You might run three times a week or be wondering why the hell you signed up for this.
Doesn't matter.
For an hour every Thursday, we're all on the same team.
