Climeet Kolkata - Eco-Anxiety Support Group
Eco anxiety refers to persistent and often intense emotions about the changing climate. Many people experience eco-anxiety after experiencing it or reading about it. From heatwaves, floods, deforestation, pollution, to news about a warming planet, are some drivers for such emotions. This eco-anxiety support group is to help create a space to hold such emotions and navigate these shared experiences with a like-minded community.
Coming into a room with strangers to share mental health struggles can be daunting. We use a group sharing format. We aim to create a space where folks can share their struggles and create solidarity around these shared experiences.
This support group is to create a safe space and community to come together and explore these feelings. This is a group, peer-to-peer support group and is NOT an alternative to professional mental health services.
A mental health professional will be present in the case of any emergencies. We may refer you to a professional if needed. We may share things to help us feel more hopeful or constructive suggestions that can help one navigate such feelings more effectively.
