About I am a Snail:
“I am a snail, I am from Eastern Europe, and this is my song…,” proclaims Snail at the opening of a bold new alt-comedy fever dream by LA-based clown, Nora Dell. Officially, a serious business focus group; unofficially, this show takes the question “would you still love me if I were a snail” to its furthest illogical extreme.
Theater-goers find themselves in for a treat: a snail from Eastern Europe, a powerful song-and-dance, a hostage negotiation, and…puppets. “I set out to create a serious exploration of the ways we lose and find ourselves throughout our lives,” said Dell, “but unfortunately, I am a snail”.
Despite a complete lack of everything a proper work of theater should have, audiences are transfixed by Dell’s mesmerizing performance, calling it “delightful surrealism,” and saying “I laughed so hard my cheeks hurt”.
About Nora Dell:
Dell, a Gaulier-trained clown (and failed student of Realism for Actors), brings her unique brand of profoundly absurd tomfoolery to Mabuhay Gardens after a two week run in the Hollywood Fringe. Dell’s work has been featured in New York, Baltimore, Bombay Beach (2026 Grant Winner), Edinburgh, and D.C., where she earned a “Best of D.C. Fringe 2025”. You can find her on instagram @aronlled_comedy or on the streets of L.A. dressed up as a giant Olive.
