Meet Chris Heivly
Chris Heivly co-founded MapQuest before most of us knew what GPS was. Since then, he’s spent 15 years talking 1-on-1 with over 5,000 founders and ecosystem builders, directed more than $75 million in investment capital as a managing director of The Startup Factory, and served as SVP of Innovation at Techstars, the world’s largest seed investor. He helped build the Raleigh/Durham startup ecosystem from the ground up, founding initiatives like Startup Durham Week along the way, and his work has been featured in Forbes, Inc., TechCrunch, and the documentary Startupland.
Dubbed the “Startup Whisperer,” Chris hosts the podcast Your Startup Community and has written two books, including his latest, The Startup Community Builder’s Field Guide. His mission: proving the next big thing can start in a town you’ve never heard of, which is exactly why he calls the Sandhills home, and why he’s here to help build what’s next for our own community.
Brought to you by:
The Sandhills Startup Hub, in collaboration with Watchtower and The Corner Collective, alongside entrepreneurs and business leaders across the Sandhills, because good ideas grow faster together.
