Desert Discovery at Vasquez Rocks
Vasquez Rocks Natural Area is one of Southern California's most iconic landscapes — and our very first OLV Club Friday Field Trip destination. Formed by thousands of years of geological activity along the San Andreas Fault, these dramatic sandstone formations are the perfect backdrop for real-world exploration. Kids will have the chance to climb, discover, and connect with nature while families connect with each other.
What We'll Be Doing
We'll meet at the main entrance and explore the rock formations together as a group. Kids will receive an OLV nature scavenger hunt sheet to complete along the way — finding plants, spotting wildlife, and discovering the unique desert landscape. We'll wrap up with a group photo at the rocks to celebrate OLV's very first field trip.
