About our Mentor:
Kate Curran is the Vice President of Business Systems at American Fidelity, where she leads strategic initiatives for business software and applications. She has held a variety of leadership roles in her 12 years at American Fidelity and is known for her ability to drive results by challenging the status quo and championing new technologies and ways of working. Kate holds a Master’s degree in Management and Leadership (MSML), which informs her collaborative leadership style and her ability to inspire teams to deliver meaningful organizational impact. She is also a trained leadership coach through the International Coaching Federation (ICF), and she is passionate about developing others at all stages of their careers. Prior to joining American Fidelity, Kate worked for Dell Technologies as an IT Technical Analyst and Micron Technology as an Assembly Trainer, experiences that shaped her technical foundation and people‑first approach to leadership.
Beyond her professional career, Kate is deeply committed to community engagement and advancing women in technology. She currently serves on the Advisory Board for Oklahoma Women in Technology (OKWIT) and previously served as President of the Women in Technology group at American Fidelity, as well as on the Board of Directors for Christmas Connection. Through coaching and mentorship, she has supported countless individuals in navigating career growth and breaking barriers. Something that surprises people about Kate is that she didn’t take the traditional path, she started in tech right out of high school and earned her degrees later in her career. Proof that growth doesn’t follow a timeline and it’s never too late to level up.
Outside of work, Kate enjoys spending time with her family – especially the newest addition of her first grandchild! She loves traveling, baking/cooking, and curating a vinyl collection that has grown into an obsession. She’s an avid music and podcast listener (admittedly a true crime junky and a Swiftie).
