Learning About Local Investment Vehicles

Description: We will explore multiple mechanisms enabling: a) community members to invest in to local projects and own the success together; and, 2) local projects to raise capital from fellow local community members. Katie Boland from the Delta Fund will talk about how they are investing into local projects via donor advised funds (DAFs). Stephanie Morales, from MadeSpace, will share how she is working to set up a community trust to buy out and operate a commercial space together with local community members. Cali Slepin from Trust Neighborhoods will talk about how her organization will help neighborhood-focused rental housing and commercial projects get investments from local community members via Mixed-Income Neighborhood Trusts (MINTs).
