Creative Nature Photography | The Art of Slowing Down with Debabrata Bagchi
The World at Your Feet
"The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes." — Marcel Proust
Most of us look at nature through the big picture, like the massive trees, the endless sky, and the sweeping landscape. But beneath our feet lies an entire universe of textures, patterns, and tiny creatures waiting to be noticed.
This workshop is an invitation to slow down, shift perspective, and explore the extraordinary hidden within the ordinary. Using nothing more than your smartphone (or a camera if you have one), we'll learn to see the small world that exists all around us and capture it through macro photography.
This isn't a workshop about expensive equipment or mastering technical settings. It's about paying attention and discovering that some of nature's most beautiful stories reveal themselves only when we pause long enough to notice.
What we'll do
In this guided session, led by Debabrata Bagchi, we'll begin to learn the art of seeing differently. Through examples and simple demonstrations, we'll explore how light, composition, and perspective can transform everyday subjects into compelling photographs.
We'll then head outdoors, where you'll spend time wandering through nature to find interesting subjects and capture them.
We'll end by gathering as a group to share a few favourite photographs, reflect on what surprised us, and explore how this practice of careful observation can become part of our everyday lives.
What you get

Practical smartphone photography techniques for close-up nature photography

About the Facilitator
Debabrata Bagchi, aka Deb, is a creative nature and wildlife photographer based out of Bangalore, India. For Deb, nature photography started with documenting birds around him and eventually evolved into a form of self-expression. What began as curiosity evolved into a journey of looking inwards. Deb moved beyond literal representation, using intentional motion, minimalism, and the artful play of light to reveal the soul of the wild. Each photograph that he aims to capture is an impression of spirit, motion, and form that stays with you. He uses the Instagram handle @junglelens to share these ideas on photography and can be reached at dbagchi77@gmail.com
