Maltego x CDTM Hackathon: Build AI agents for real intelligence investigations
Maltego x CDTM Hackathon: Build AI agents for real investigations
20 October 2026 · Maltego office, Munich · Free · Food and drinks included · No team or investigation experience needed
What happens when you give AI agents access to the data used in real intelligence investigations? On 20 October you'll spend one day finding out, and the winning team presents its project the next day at M3C, Maltego's conference for investigators.
What you get to work with
Early access to Maltego's agentic platform and its investigation data: people, companies, domains, infrastructure, online identities, cryptocurrency and more
Model credits to power the agent you build, so your prototype can run real investigations on the day
Maltego engineers on hand for setup and integration questions, and investigators in the room to tell you what matters in a case
What you'll build
Working in teams, you'll build an agent that helps an investigator follow leads, find connections and show how it reached its results. You don't need a finished product; you need to show that one real investigation task becomes faster, easier or more reliable. The detailed challenge areas and technical setup go out to registered participants a week before the event.
Who you'll meet
Investigators from law enforcement, intelligence and security teams, who bring the problems and mentor the teams
Marcel Gordon, former VP Product at Helsing, now CPTO at Maltego, on the jury
A participant from the Palladion Defence Accelerator, on the jury
The prize
The winning team presents at M3C on 21 October to around 200 investigators and analysts from law enforcement, intelligence and security teams across the globe: the people who would use what you built. The team also attends the conference itself, with the rest of the day to meet the people in that room.
Who can join
Anyone interested in AI agents and LLMs, software and interface design, cybersecurity and online investigations, or turning new technology into useful products. No Maltego or investigation experience required. You don't need a team; we form them on the day.
Places are limited; sign up early to secure a spot.
Not in Munich? Apply anyway and tell us what you'd build. If we pick you, we'll cover travel and two nights in Munich.
