We will start with a presentation from The PRIDE Study, based at Stanford University, the first, large-scale, long-term, national health study focused on all adults who identify as LGBTQIA+.

You’ll learn more about how The PRIDE Study was created for and by LGBTQIA+ communities, some of their latest research findings across physical, mental, and social health for LGBTQIA+ people, and ways to get involved to help advance health equity for LGBTQIA+ communities.

We will have therapists available for emotion/processing support.

For those who are interested, there will also be designated time to enroll in The PRIDE Study and complete a survey to receive goodies for The PRIDE Study and CAMBA BOP.

Organizations:

Brooklyn YAS (youth against substance misuse) is committed to creating community-level change to prevent substance misuse in LGBTQIA+ youth in Brooklyn, specifically in the neighborhoods of Crown Heights, Flatbush, East Flatbush, Bed-Stuy, East New York, Bushwick, and Williamsburg. We are a coalition of organizations, agencies, businesses, parents, and LGBTQIA+ youth that works to support LGBTQIA+ youth. We seek to promote safe, affirming spaces; instill physical and psychological safety; reduce family conflict and rejection; and increase community attachment for LGBTQIA+ youth by applying environmental prevention strategies.

Brooklyn Outreach and Prevention (BOP): CAMBA's Brooklyn Outreach & Prevention program promotes HIV awareness and offers sexual health education to the BIPOC LGBTQIA+ community. BOP operates several programs and maintains a solid network of community partners to provide affirming services to the communities we live in.

Project STAY: Project STAY is a free sexual health program administered by New York Presbyterian Hospital and Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health. Our mission is to provide compassionate, comprehensive, and gender-affirming sexual health services to young people in NYC. We offer a range of health services at our clinic in Washington Heights, including HIV/STI testing and treatment, PrEP/PEP/doxyPEP, birth control, HRT (hormone replacement therapy), and primary care. We also have an outreach program that provides community-based sexual health education, on-site HIV and STI screenings, and linkage to care.
