Join us for our next event — a Vacant to Vibrant / Bay Area Popup Special Edition Meetup on Thursday, August 27, 4:00–6:30 PM:
Meet up at Best Bookstore Union Square for a quick walking tour of select Vacant to Vibrant popups led by Simon Bertrang Executive Director of SF New Deal. And then afterwards get a chance to chat and learn more about Vacant to Vibrant, other Bay Area pop-up concepts, keys for success and lessons learned.

4pm: Meet up at Best Bookstore Union Square (226 Powell St, San Francisco, CA 94102)
4:15-5:00pm Vacant to Vibrant Popup Walking Tour led by Simon Bertrang, Executive Director of SF New Deal (the organization behind Vacant to Vibrant and other SF small business support programs) featuring Best Bookstore, Dandelion Chocolate, Al Pastor Papi, The Cowrie Collective, Zasta Studio and others!
Note: Walking Tour will bring us from Powell St at Union Square to pop-ups on Market at 2nd St, a block from our post-tour gathering spot at 111 Minna. Distance of about a half mile aka 6 SF blocks.
5-6:30pm Gather for drinks and conversation with SF New Deal, local governments, BIDs and nonprofits about Bay Area pop up programs, best practices, lessons learned and key do’s and dont’s regarding program structure, funding, and selection of businesses. Confirmed Location: Happy Hour at 111 Minna Gallery & Event Space (111 Minna St, San Francisco, CA 94105)
About the Bay Area Economic Development Alliance:
I've launched the Bay Area Economic Development Alliance as an intentional and informal way to convene economic development professionals across the region to share ideas, strengthen relationships, and spark collaboration, bringing together folks from Business Improvement Districts, Chambers, city government, nonprofits, workforce counterparts and regional organizations, that are passionate about the work and all help support economic growth in different ways for Bay Area communities. I’ve love for you to be part of it!
Join us every month for a casual (and free) get-together to reconnect, meet others in the network, and start building something that’s useful, energizing, and genuinely collaborative with a small group of folks working on everything from business support and workforce pathways to placemaking, partnerships, and community-driven development. My hope is that this becomes a regular reoccurring meet-up where we can share ideas, swap insights, spark new collaborations and build a more connected community across the many facets of economic development in the Bay.
