Tigress Talks: Conversations with Princeton Women #2 (Dara Kennedy '99, Founder of Ayla Beauty in San Francisco)
Thank you for joining us for our 1st Tigress Talk on Zoom with Samantha Walravens '90 in February as we get to know our amazing PWNNC members through our monthly series.
We are pleased to announce that our 2nd one will be IRL (in real life!) with Dara Kennedy ‘99, Founder/CEO of Ayla Beauty, at her studio in San Francisco.
Dara has worked in retail and beauty branding, advertising, and product development since 1999. She founded Ayla in 2011 to make the process of finding the perfect beauty and wellness products empowering, inspiring, and fun.
PWNNC Board Member Catarina Schwab ‘96 will lead a conversation with Dara about:
Her Princeton experience
How she got into the beauty industry and what it's like to be an entrepreneur
What we should be looking for in the products we buy
Dara has graciously offered to have her favorite makeup artists available to advise on products, beauty routines, and color matching!
Space is limited to 30 people. We hope to see you there!
Meet Dara Kennedy '99
Dara has worked in retail and beauty branding, advertising, and product development since 1999. She founded Ayla in 2011 to make the process of finding the perfect beauty and wellness products empowering, inspiring, and fun.
As a product curator, she was one of the earliest supporters of brands like Marie Veronique, Kosas, Vintner’s Daughter, and Luzern Labs; she’s excited to have added her own Dara Kennedy brand to Ayla’s shelves, too. Dara has been featured in publications including Vogue, The New York Times, and Town & Country — which thrilled her by highlighting her as one of their “miracle gurus” — as well as Beauty Independent, which further thrilled her by describing her as “the Alice Waters of skincare.”
Dara has an AB in History with certificates in American Studies and French Language & Culture from Princeton and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She lives in San Francisco with her husband, two kids, and (possibly futile) dreams of a dog.
