Restoring Hope: Health & Livelihood Support for 50 Widows

Logos Circle Kaduna 3.0 is a community-led health and livelihood initiative focused on supporting 50 widows in Kaduna with access to basic healthcare, health education, and economic empowerment.

This gathering marks an important transition for Logos Circle Kaduna—from identifying local challenges to taking practical action on one of our first Winnable Issues.

What to Expect

The outreach will provide participating widows with access to:

  • General medical consultations

  • Blood pressure and blood glucose screening

  • Hepatitis B & C screening

  • Malaria testing

  • Basic laboratory investigations

  • Health education and preventive-care counselling

  • Medications for common illnesses, where appropriate

  • Hepatitis B vaccination for eligible participants

  • Referrals for further medical care where necessary

Beyond healthcare, we believe restoring hope also means creating pathways toward greater economic independence.

As part of the initiative, three widows who operate small businesses will receive livelihood grants to strengthen their businesses and improve their income-generating capacity.

Participants will also have an opportunity to learn about financial inclusion, the digital economy, and civic participation, helping connect immediate support with longer-term opportunities for resilience and empowerment.

Community Collaboration

This initiative is being made possible through collaboration between Logos Circle Kaduna and a growing network of community partners, healthcare professionals, volunteers, and organizations.

Our healthcare team includes medical doctors from the Circle, optometrists from Eagle Eye Clinic Kaduna, medical laboratory scientists, and pharmacists from the local community.

Volunteers from DJFL Foundation will support registration, coordination, logistics, and beneficiary management throughout the outreach, while The Mirror Hub will contribute sessions around financial inclusion, the digital economy, and civic action.

Our Goal

Our goal is simple:

50 widows reached. 50 lives touched through healthcare. 3 livelihoods strengthened. One community brought together through collective action.

Logos Circle Kaduna 3.0 is a practical demonstration of what becomes possible when communities identify their challenges, organize around them, and take responsibility for creating change.

This is community in action. This is our Winnable Issue.
