We often hear that strength training is important, yet the reality of starting and staying consistent can feel overwhelming amidst all the other inaccessible fitness trends.

If you’ve ever felt a hesitation, or thought, “I want to train, but I’m afraid of hurting myself,” this session is for you.

For the longevity focused woman, building muscle is far more than an aesthetic pursuit, it is a critical "health pension" that preserves metabolic vitality and physical independence for the next forty years.

Selina will discuss how to remove the intimidation of "lifting heavy" and replace it with a clear, evidence based practical guidance. You’ll learn about the core of your core - the pelvic floor - since being able to engage your pelvic floor is essential for lifting anything!

Even if you train already, this is an investment in your future self.

What you will take away from this session:

  • Mastery of the "Big Four" Movements: We will talk about the importance of (and practice!) the Squat, Hinge, Push, and Pull. These are the fundamental blueprints for all human movement; once you master these, you can navigate any exercise and real-world physical challenge with confidence.

  • Efficiency: Learn why "compound movements" are the most time-efficient way to build strength. We will discuss how to achieve a full-body stimulus in just 30 minutes.

  • What “lifting heavy” means for your exact level: How to gauge intensity to ensure you are triggering bone growth and muscle repair without overtaxing your nervous system.

  • Pelvic Health: A look at why hip and pelvic floor strength is your primary insurance policy against future falls and how to support the 35+ muscles that interact with the pelvic floor.

  • Strength training as you age: How to adjust based on your fitness levels and adapt with pregnancy and the hormonal changes that aging brings.

  • Nutrient Timing: Simple tricks on nutrient timing and understanding exactly what your muscles to ensure your effort translates into lasting results.
