About Event

The Federation of American Scientists, in partnership with the Kapor Foundation, invites you to attend a hill briefing to celebrate the publication of our Source Code: Building an AI Trust and Fairness Policy Agenda Sprint. Our project aims to advance ten detailed and action-oriented policy solutions needed to foster public trust and implement fairness in the adoption of AI across diverse domains, from healthcare and government benefits to rural access, education, and worker compensation. We also explore what more fair futures could look like in the realm of digital regulation and redress mechanisms.

Please join us from 3–5 PM in the Dirksen Senate Office Building (G-11) for engaging panel discussions that introduce and explore these policy ideas in depth. We encourage interested attendees to arrive ten minutes early and have a photo ID available to get through security screening.

Afterwards, please join the Federation of American Scientists for an informal happy hour at Sonoma Restaurant and Wine Bar focused on the launch of their AI trust and fairness policy proposals. This widely attended reception brings together senior AI policy leaders, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers focused on fairness, trust, accountability, and the public-interest implications of AI systems. Attendees will include participants in FAS’s Source Code policy sprint, invited experts, and members of the DC AI policy community.

This event is open to a broad policy audience and is intended to be a widely attended event. Drinks and light bites will be provided.
