About Event

Strategy + Design consultancy press PLAY is proud to collaborate with its longtime partner, BOLD Workshop Architecture, to convene conversations about topics that matter.

As part of this effort, we are proud to present: "Art, Architecture and Alliteration" - a discussion about the intersection of creative fields and what craftspeople can learn from one another.

This inaugural session will focus on the audacity of creating at a time of chaos, confusion and deep polarization - and what we can do to act with integrity.

We hope you will join us for what is sure to be a deeply thoughtful and provocative conversation.

Your Hosts:
> George Damian: A creative strategist operating at the intersection of technical and creative disciplines, George has spent the past decade helping founders launch projects with confidence after leading some of the world's largest energy projects across North America and the Middle East. George brings a unique mix of industrial know-how and startup acumen from his work with Creative Destruction Lab and Platform Calgary to his private practice, press PLAY, where he serves as Principal and Creative Director.

> Kayla Browne: An architect with over a decade of experience across diverse typologies - from custom homes and multifamily housing to award-winning restaurant interiors and large-scale transit infrastructure - Kayla is a leader in her field who embraces complex challenges with a sense of curiosity and her trademark tenacity. A strong advocate for inclusive, equitable environments, Kayla is co-founder and advisory board member of BEA Calgary and serves as a member of City of Calgary’s Council Advisory Committee on Housing.

Our Featured Guest:

> Amy Granat: St. Louis, Missouri-based artist Amy Granat makes films but generally dispenses with the camera, producing images by damaging film emulsion through direct manipulation. In 2015, Amy launched Parapet / Real Humans, an art gallery dedicated to promoting contemporary art through free and public performances, talks, exhibitions and a wide variety of events. Collectors of Amy's works include the Centre Pompidou in Paris, as well as the Museum of Modern Art and Whitney Museum of American Art in New York.
