About Event

As part of LMU Sustainability Week, our next Founders’ Fireside Chat will explore how entrepreneurship can help shape a more sustainable and equitable energy future.

Our guest is Dr. Jakob Assmann, entrepreneur and LMU alumnus, whose work combines renewable energy, local engagement and innovative business models. As Co-Founder of Polarstern, he helped build a company committed to driving the energy transition. With Neue Energie Achental eG, he is also involved in advancing the energy transition at the regional level, demonstrating how entrepreneurial initiatives can help communities take an active role in shaping a sustainable energy future.

What does it take to turn the vision of a sustainable energy system into viable business models? How can entrepreneurship help make the energy transition not only sustainable, but fair? And what role can local communities play in shaping how its benefits and costs are shared?

He’ll be in conversation with Dr. Philipp Baaske — Co-Founder of NanoTemper, LMU spin-off turned global deep-tech player, and LMU’s Vice President for Entrepreneurship — who hosts the series as a founder himself.

No keynotes. No slides. Just real talk. #HowIBuiltIt
