Startup School Session 3: Talk To Customers
How do you find out what people really need without accidentally getting compliments instead of honest answers?
Customer conversations are one of the most useful tools an entrepreneur has, but asking good questions is harder than it looks.
In this practical session, Rosie Turner will show you how to have better discovery conversations. We’ll explore who to speak to, how to ask about real experiences and past behaviour, what to listen for, and why pitching your solution too early can get in the way of useful learning.
You’ll leave with a simple interview plan and questions you can take straight into your first or next customer conversation.
This session is led by Rosie Turner, co-founder of InChorus and LSE Entrepreneur-in-Residence.
Startup School is LSE Generate’s practical introduction to entrepreneurship. Across eight connected sessions, we’ll take you through the fundamentals of finding a problem worth solving, understanding customers, testing ideas, building traction, making the numbers work, funding growth and creating something that matters.
Each workshop builds on the last, but you're welcome to join at any point. Come along to the live online sessions and get involved, simply listen in, or catch up afterwards with the recording.
You do not need to have a startup or even a fully formed idea. Startup School is designed for anyone who wants to learn how entrepreneurs turn uncertainty into evidence and ideas into action.
