Foresight salon with ARIA

​Join Foresight Institute and ARIA for an evening salon!

ARIA is a UK R&D funding agency created to empower exceptional scientists and engineers to pursue breakthroughs at the edge of the possible.

​This fireside chat will explore how ARIA identifies and backs bold ideas, exceptional talent and ambitious research programmes that could unlock entirely new fields. You’ll hear from the ARIA team and Programme Directors, including Brian Wang, about the areas they are currently exploring, how they are building programmes around important scientific and technological opportunities, and what makes ARIA’s approach to funding different.

​We’ll also discuss the Programme Director role itself: the opportunity to define a frontier vision, assemble a portfolio of research teams and help shape a new area of science and technology. The session will offer space to explore where the next breakthrough programmes could come from, and the kinds of people and ideas ARIA is looking to back.
