Speaker Bios
Elizabeth Nanak: CEO, GlycoNet
Dr. Elizabeth Nanak is Chief Executive Officer of GlycoNet, where she provides strategic leadership for a national network advancing glycomics research, commercialization, and innovation.
With more than 20 years of experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder programs, she has played a central role in securing more than $120 million in public and private funding, including GlycoNet’s inaugural federal Strategic Science Fund award in December 2023.
She has developed and implemented strategies that accelerate the translation of glycomics technologies and support company creation, contributing to the establishment of five start-up companies.
Stephanie Brown: Principal and Founder, SCB Lifesciences Consulting LLC
Stephanie Brown is an accomplished bio-pharma executive with over 30 years of global leadership experience across North America, Europe, and Asia. She has deep experience in product launches and has successfully brought highly specialized, breakthrough biologics and small molecules from clinic to commercialization across a broad range of therapeutic areas.
Her expertise spans product launches, business development, portfolio planning, corporate restructuring, and governance. Stephanie has chaired and governed inter-company collaborations, and has chaired, co-chaired and served on multiple executive US and global governance committees.
Véronique Bougie: COO, Anasens
Véronique Bougie is a scientist and CEO, active on the boards of several organizations influencing LSHC.
She is currently COO at Anasens after serving as its CEO, with a long track record leading early-stage biotechs operationally, alongside board roles at Montréal InVivo and BIO Québec.
Aida Sijamic Wahid: Associate Professor and Academic Director, Rotman School of Management
Aida Sijamic Wahid has been on the faculty of the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, for twelve years. Her research on board effectiveness and corporate governance has been published in leading academic journals.
In addition to teaching in the Directors Education Program, Aida has taught in other Executive programs, as well as non-executive programs including the full-time MBA, graduate specialized, PhD, and undergraduate programs.
Aida is affiliated with the David and Sharon Johnston Center for Corporate Governance Innovation, where she previously served on the board. She has also served on the boards of Osteoporosis Canada and Family Service Toronto, where she chairs the Finance and Audit Committee.
