Outer Island DIY picnic

​Come to Outer Island for a DIY Idealist Day - bring a picnic, bring friends, or come on your own! Learn about the history of the island, identify cormorants and other sea birds, and get a clear view of Faulkner Island. When you get to the island, ask one of the staff or volunteers for the information sheet; free tours are also available. NOTE: Bring your own food and water. There's an outhouse and a sheltered area but no other facilities. This 5 acre island is part of a national refuge; dogs and other pets are not allowed on the island. You can kayak or take the ferry; tickets are $20.00 round trip.
