Housing Advocacy Workshop
Our actions from now through July can shape what makes it into the final housing package — inclusionary reform, impact fee reductions, and a new affordable housing piece. The package will not pass on its own. The Board needs to feel the heat — at City Hall, at Planning Commission, in their inboxes, and in your neighborhoods — every week between now and the August recess.
Abundant SF, the Housing Action Coalition, SF YIMBY, and SPUR are running a three-month coalition campaign to land every piece before the August recess. This workshop is where the campaign starts.
By the end of the night, you'll leave with:
A clear brief on the highest-value pieces of the package from coalition policy experts — what each one actually does, how they work together, and why this is the rare moment to win them.
Hands-on training in the highest-leverage advocacy tools: writing letters to your supervisor, testifying at Planning Commission and Land Use hearings, hosting a house party, and joining City Hall supervisor meetings.
Your district team. Meet your neighbors in a district breakout, find the supervisor you'll be working on, and leave with names and a plan.
A lane to fight in. You'll commit to one or more of the four roles before you leave. We'll follow up within 24 hours with everything you need.
