🎯 The Purpose
This May, we are hosting a 28-day gathering for global talent to deep dive into the Chinese tech ecosystem.
For the global community, China has always been a “black box.” Most people only see it from afar, yet are constantly surprised by the Chinese products and innovations that disrupt the global market.
Most of the companies listed above will be attending muShanghai!
We want to give you the chance to dive down the rabbit hole and see it firsthand.
Our goal isn’t to show the “good” side of China or “bad” side of China.
We want to show you the true side of China.
Come bypass the media stereotypes and build your own, unfiltered understanding of the second-largest tech nation in the world.
📍 The Venue: The Heart of the Ecosystem
muShanghai is set up in the Shanghai Future Tech City, at Alibaba HQ.
We will be using floors and spaces in this campus for the month!
You will be immersed in a highly connected ecosystem. From our hub, you are within two hours’ reach of every major tech giant and supply chain hub in China.
Super Connected!
Want to take this opportunity to thank muShanghai local partner, Alibaba HongQiao team, bringing in Alibaba resources, venue support and government connections!
🗓️ Programming: A Month-Long Tech Festival
To showcase the true depth of China’s ecosystem, we’ve structured the month around four defining frontiers: AI, Biotech, Robotics, and Culture.
But here is the catch: we provide the canvas, and you create the content. We actively encourage our community to co-create events such as workshops, meetups, and sessions.
Right now, we already have 9 Hackerhouses, 5 Global Meetups, 2 Factory Tours, 6 Company Tours, 1 Race Track Experience, 1 Biotech Robotics Research Lab Visit, an International Coffee Festival, a Digital Nomad Conference, 2 local AI Conferences, 2 Private Tours, all happening during muShanghai Month!!

🫡 Final Words
Since announcing muShanghai, we have received support from friends around the world. You have introduced us to incredible builders, connected us with partners, brought in sponsors, and stepped up to co-create events. A simple “thank you” barely scratches the surface of our appreciation ❤️.
Bringing The Mu to China for the first time has the same fun, vibrant energy as every event we’ve hosted. But it also carries a different weight. In a time when fragmentation and anti-globalization are becoming the new normal, muShanghai has to be more than just a celebration of open-source innovation and genuine connection.
Grassroots communities like ours have a responsibility to step up and build bridges. The explosive technological growth of the last 40 years didn’t happen in a vacuum; it was fueled by borderless collaboration and the fundamental belief that innovation belongs to everyone.
We are here to keep those doors open. Let’s build the future, together.
See you in May, see you in muShanghai.
Cheers,
Sun.
