About Event

You are warmly invited to the Winter Salon of On the Ground in China by People's Square. This time we will host two reporters with a China background and who have both recently spent time on the ground in China.

Elaine Chong is a journalist at the BBC World Service investigating crime in Chinese communities around the world.

Robert Postings is a freelance journalist who has written for The Times, Daily Mail, Time Out Shanghai, and The Wire China. He previously spent 6 years living in China.

On the Ground in China is a salon for discussing trends in today's Chinese society. We invite speakers who are Chinese or have lived in China for a significant amount of time and who have recently been back to visit, to share their thoughts and insights into what is changing. That's followed by an extensive discussion with the audience - all of whom have China experience themselves.

In order to facilitate a productive discussion, we aim for a balanced audience with China experience. Therefore all registrations are reviewed by our team and admission is by Approval Only. Thank you for understanding.
