A dinner to gather. To support. To say thank you.
On March 5th at 7:30pm, we’re coming together at Tayybeh, the beautiful Syrian restaurant near Parque das Nações, to celebrate and show appreciation for two incredible humans: Alan and Ramia Ghunim.
After the devastating storms in the Leiria region, Alan and Ramia silently showed up for the local community by cooking and delivering food to a firefighter battalion working tirelessly on the ground — an act of generosity that speaks volumes.
Shortly after, they realised the same storm severely damaged their own farm, leaving them facing significant losses. Once again, they find themselves having to rebuild from the ground up — investing time, resources and resilience to restore what was lost.
This dinner is our way of showing up for them.
At Tayybeh, you’re welcomed as if entering a home in Damascus. The space is filled with stories, and the food is deeply personal — traditional Syrian home cooking prepared by Syrian women whose recipes come from their own cities of origin. The project supports the integration of Syrian refugees, creating meaningful work and stable income through what they love most: cooking.
This is more than dinner.
It’s solidarity at the table.

Ana Romero Monteiro, brings her passion for food, design, and community to life as the founder of FoodiesLX.
A proud Lisbon native, Ana spent eight years living abroad between Prague, New York, and Geneva, experiences that deepened her appreciation for the universal power of food to connect people.
An international designer, now also a community builder, Ana channels her creative spirit into crafting memorable gatherings. She’s a proud mom to a vibrant 5-year-old, an avid ceramic collector, and blends her artistry and hospitality to create inviting spaces where stories are shared and friendships are formed.
Ana’s love for bringing people together around the table is at the heart of FoodiesLX, and she can’t wait to welcome you to this unique event.
