Brazilian Experience of Social Participation of Women and Youth Pre- and Post-COP30: Challenges and Perspectives for COP31
Join us for a conversation on Brazil’s experience in strengthening the participation of women and youth in climate action and governance.
Organized by the COP30 Presidency Youth Climate Champion (PYCC), the Government of Brazil (through the National Youth Secretariat and the Ministry of Women), and UNFPA, with support from the Defend Democracy in Brazil Committee, Washington Brazil Office, and partners, the event will reflect on Brazil’s journey of social participation — from the Women and Climate Coalition and Biome Youth Plenaries to the Youth City, the World Youth Plenary at COP30, and the Post-COP30 Biome Plenaries — highlighting key outcomes, lessons learned, and the Voices of the Biomes: Women’s and Youth’s Agenda for Climate report, while exploring how these experiences can inform and strengthen social participation on the road to COP31.
We invite civil society organizations, social movements, international organizations, governments, researchers, and anyone interested in meaningful social participation in climate governance to join us.
