About Event

About the event

When I started lifting, I was intimidated, lost, and nowhere near consistent. I kept copying things from youtube and instagram without really understanding the movements, and falling off after few tries.

The thing is, most classes just tell you what to do for 45 minutes, but rarely don't go into the details such as the why. A personal trainer can teach you the how and why, but that's a big commitment, and finding the right one is hard. And even then, a session is only an hour, and most of it has to go on getting the workout in, so the theory rarely gets the time it deserves.

So we went looking for an event that actually taught the theory behind strength training, in a room full of women. We couldn't find one, so we built it.

That's Lift Lab, understand what you're doing and why, then put it into practice, together.

What is Lift Lab

Lift Lab is our brand new educational strength experience for women+. It's a premium three-hour event that combines a focused lecture on the principles of strength training, a coached group session, and a curated social atmosphere. You'll leave understanding exactly what you're doing, and why, so training on your own no longer feels like guesswork, all in a room full of women figuring it out alongside you.

One evening, three parts:

  1. Learn the what, how and why, the theory behind your lifts

  2. Practice, a fully coached strength session

  3. Connect, time with other women getting into lifting

This edition: Strength for Real Life - The Functional Side of Lifting

Getting up off the floor without pushing off your knees. Carrying all the shopping up the stairs in one trip. Scooping up a kid, or lifting a suitcase overhead, without your back complaining.

That's what strength is really for, the kind that shows up in your everyday life, not just in the mirror. This edition is all about training for exactly that: a body that does what you need it to, today and decades from now.

And we'll get properly into the why. For the everyday movements you actually do, we'll look at what's really happening in your body, and why specific exercises make you better at them. So instead of guessing, you train with intent for the life you want to move through.

What we'll cover:

  • What: functional strength really is, and why it's for everyone

  • Why: it matters, with the mechanics of everyday movements: getting off the floor, carrying your life, climbing stairs, catching yourself when you trip, and why certain exercises help

  • How: to genuinely train for real life (beyond just adding weight)

  • When & where: to train it (almost anywhere), and how to stay consistent for the long game

Open to all levels, whether you've never touched a weight or you've been lifting for years.

And it's taught by someone who's lived it: an Olympic sprinter. She never trained to look a certain way, or to lift for the sake of lifting, she trained to run faster. For her, strength was always a tool for what her body could do. That's functional strength at the highest level, and it's the exact lens she'll bring to your goals, whether that's a faster 5k or carrying your kid up the stairs without a second thought.
