Moms in Capital - online meetup
Combining an investment career with young children is hard, and figuring it out alone makes it even harder.
Join Ivana Henckel von Donnersmarck (Founder, Career Navigator & Venture Partner, Skybound VC) and Anieke Lamers (Founder, The VC Coach & Operating Partner, Borski Fund) for an open, live conversation on how mothers in venture capital and private equity can stay ambitious and present at home: staying visible on the road to Partner, negotiating flexibility and travel without being seen as less committed, and making informed decisions on carry, compensation and promotion.
Too many brilliant women leave investing because they can’t see how to combine it with the family life they want. McKinsey reports annual attrition of 16% for women in private markets investment roles versus 12% for men, and Level 20 finds women hold 13% of senior investment roles in European PE and VC while making up 35% of junior ones. The numbers don’t explain why each woman leaves, but they show a challenge our industry needs to take seriously.
We’ll also introduce Mothers in Capital, a confidential, curated circle for mothers of young children working in VC and PE, and take your questions live.
Who it’s for: You’re a mother of young children (or expecting) working in VC or PE. You’re returning from leave, approaching it, or rethinking what ambition looks like years later. You’re working out how to handle travel, flexibility and carry, and you can’t always have those conversations at your fund.
This is that room.
