About Event

When we say “Bollywood,” we’re not just talking about movies or songs. It’s…

  • Music playing on the radio while our parents cooked

  • Cousins squeezed onto one sofa, watching the same film for the fifth time and still reacting at the same scenes

  • That one song that played at every wedding, every birthday, every school function

Bollywood is where many of us first saw love we didn’t yet understand, heartbreak we hadn’t felt, courage we didn’t know we had, and joy big enough to pull everyone into the same moment. 💙

✉️ We’re inviting you into a space that, for us, feels like home.

🧣 How you can show up:

  • If you own something Indian — a kurta, long skirt, stole, or jewellery — wear it

  • If not, come exactly as you are, in whatever feels comfortable

🤝 Take it at your own pace:

  • Watch the first few songs if that feels right

  • Ask someone to show you a simple step — there’ll be plenty of people happy to

  • Sing along to a chorus you don’t fully understand yet

Or just stand there, take it in, and realise that even without shared language, the feeling is surprisingly easy to understand.

💃 On the dance floor, there’s no “right” way to move. If the song is playing, you stand up. You clap. You sway. You move however you can. The point is that, for three and a half minutes, you’re inside that song with everyone else.

We’re hosting this night because Bollywood has stayed with us, and always will, even when we’ve moved far away from where it began. (and also because it’s become a tradition at NS now 😂)

At its heart, this night is about sharing something important to us in a way that feels warm, welcoming, and open.

🇮🇳 A chance for you to experience a piece of Indian culture not as an observer, but as one of us.

Far from where these memories began, but together in a place we’re all still making our own, it feels deeply meaningful to open that door and say: come in.

Let this be one of those nights that ends with tired legs, full hearts, and “see you at the next one?”
