About the Initiative
On 8th March 2026, commemorating International Women’s Day, Sanskriti Youth Foundation is organising a Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Session and Sanitary Pads Distribution Drive at one of our adopted clusters in Mayur Vihar Phase 1, Delhi.
This cluster is part of our ongoing monthly outreach program where we provide sanitary pads for one month to women and adolescent girls from economically vulnerable households. Beyond distribution, our long-term objective is to create sustained awareness, reduce stigma, and ensure menstrual dignity as a basic right.
Menstrual hygiene remains a critical yet under-discussed public health issue in underserved communities. Limited access to sanitary products, misinformation, and cultural taboos often result in infections, absenteeism from school or work, and compromised self-esteem. Through this initiative, we aim to address both access and awareness simultaneously.
