About Event

Raising capital? Before you sign anything, understand what you’re actually agreeing to. 👀

This Friday at UTS Startups, we’re getting into the Anatomy of a Term Sheet, and what founders need to know to set themselves up for a successful capital raise.

Joining us is Elizabeth Henderson, Partner and Head of Venture and Growth Capital, Australia at Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer. Elizabeth works closely with founders, startups and investors across early stage and growth funding, and has advised on major raises involving companies including Linktree, Mr Yum and Who Gives A Crap.

We’ll unpack what actually sits inside a term sheet, how different terms can affect your company, where founders may have room to negotiate and what you should understand before moving forward with an investor.

Whether you’re preparing for your first raise, building towards one, or simply want to understand how startup investment actually works, this is your chance to learn from someone who works on these deals every day.

Proudly featured as part of Spark Festival 2026, bringing founders, investors, students and the wider NSW startup ecosystem together.
