DC Day Trips - Buzzard Hill Hike
Join DC Day Trips for another adventure.
With the weather getting warmer, this hike are for those who want to sleep-in and beat the heat.
Where are we going this time?
🍽️ Leesburg, VA: One of NoVA's most charming historic towns. We'll kick off the day with a group lunch where we can get to know each other and fuel up for the hike. We'll also give you time to explore the historic downtown district (1.5-2 hours).
🥾⛰️ Buzzard Hill via the Appalachian Trail: A moderate 4-mile out-and-back hike near Bluemont, VA featuring a stream crossing, a waterfall, cabin ruins, and views at the summit. Beautiful, not brutal. (~2 hours)
🍻 Wind-down at a surprise brewery: Take in views with cold drinks (non-alc available). Here we take a well-earned break with some corn hole, board games, chat about the day, or just a moment to kick back and relax.
🌇 When you're ready, head back to DC. (~1 hour back)

Logistics
When: Saturday, June 27th at 1:00 p.m. for lunch
Where: Leesburg, VA. Lunch location shared after registration
Transportation: This is a self-drive trip. When you register you'll share your carpool preferences and we'll help connect drivers and passengers heading in the same direction. Carpooling is encouraged but optional.
Group size: DC Day Trips is about creating memorable social experiences outdoors. Outdoor spaces are better in smaller groups, and so is the conversation.
Food, drinks, and souvenirs are not included. Most locations accept CC / digital payment.
Please note that once the trip payment is processed, it is non-refundable. In the event of extreme weather or other circumstances that prevent the trip from running safely, your payment will be applied as a credit toward a future DC Day Trips experience.

DC Day Trips is cultivating a community of Washingtonians who love the outdoors and want to spend less time planning and more time connecting with nature and friends.
We believe the outdoors should be more accessible to DC residents (no car? no problem). That's why we help plan ALL the logistics, including transportation.
This summer, we are hosting trips to hike, paddle, explore, and gather in the incredible outdoor spaces the DMV has to offer. Destinations are just outside the beltway, only 1-3 hours away from DC.
