Cognitive Load & The Knowledge Worker
A 90-minute neuroscience-informed workshop for founders, freelancers, and knowledge workers navigating chronic cognitive overload, stress, and recovery.
Includes optional coworking day access at Eixample 46.
About this event
Most knowledge workers don’t burn out all at once. It usually starts with subtle cognitive overload:
constant mental switching
reduced recovery
difficulty focusing deeply
feeling “on” even outside work
rising fatigue despite functioning normally
This workshop explores what chronic stress actually does to the nervous system and how to recognize the patterns before they become unsustainable.
The session combines neuroscience-informed frameworks, practical reflection exercises, and guided discussion in a small-group setting.
This is a workshop designed for people who think for a living.
What we’ll cover
Cognitive load & chronic stress
The stress-response system (HPA axis & cortisol)
Why recovery is harder for knowledge workers
Energy mapping & burnout patterns
Attention fragmentation and nervous system overload
Practical tools for noticing and regulating stress earlier
Who this is for
founders
freelancers
remote professionals
creatives
startup operators
high-performing people under constant cognitive demand
Especially relevant if you’ve been productive for a long time, but increasingly feel mentally depleted underneath it.
