​Join us in revisiting the 2010 film Ni Wakati (It’s Time). This inspiring documentary, directed by Michael Wanguhu, tells the story of Africa’s rich culture and diversity through the journey of hip Hop icons M1 (dead prez) and Umi (P.O.W.) as they visit The Motherland.

​The film links the legacy of the Mau Mau in East Africa to that of the Black Panthers in America, showing how both movements can inspire Africans and Diasporans to move past stereotypes and unite to pursue new opportunities.

​Through a series of dialogues bringing together young people and elders, the film explores challenges from the Panthers’ radical past and encourages responsible action for this generation to drive positive change.
