How innovations in regenerative building materials and fabrication draw on ancient practices to promote sustainability
Join DBA for a roundtable about innovative new approaches to regenerative building materials and fabrication.
Come join the conversation about how:
Architects have approached sustainable building systems over time
Computational design tools allow us to plug ancient, more sustainable processes into modern systems
Contemporary fabrication techniques can produce higher quality, longer-lasting products faster and with less waste
Featuring:
Ricardo Fuentes, co-founder of Fabhaus
David Burke, Principal, DBA
Kim Kedem, Designer, DBA
The discussion will be complemented by CoolClay, and exhibit of 3D-printed ceramics created by Kim Kedem.
By 3D printing low-fired, porous clay, CoolClay creates geometries specifically engineered to maximize surface area and airflow, allowing the material to naturally regulate indoor temperature and humidity. This exhibit positions the fabrication process as an extension of environmental design: the tool, material, and performance work together as an integrated system.
Drinks and light snacks will be served.
