Rhythm Night!

​WHO: Neurodivergent adults who enjoy drumming and making music with others! No musical experience needed — if you can tap, clap, or shake, you can learn the basics and join a drum circle.

​If you play an instrument or have a drum or percussion instrument, you are welcome and encouraged to bring it!

​Note: This event will be louder by design. Drumming produces sharp, close, sustained sound, so it may not be a good fit for people who are sound sensitive to drums or percussion.

​WHAT: Join Mitchell and Amanda for Rhythm Night! We'll start with music games where you can play, listen, or watch as you like. Then we'll move into a group drum circle — no reading music, no right or wrong, just finding a groove together and enjoying the spirit of rhythm!

​WHEN: 6:30 – 8:30 pm. Please arrive within the first 5–10 minutes so we can get the circle started together.

​WHERE: We will meet at the Odyssey School. Please park/drop-off by the front entrance on Ellingson Lane. We will be right inside on the right in the large community room space.

​ACCESSIBILITY: Even if you generally do well with sound, we encourage you to bring headphones or earplugs — a drum circle is louder up close than most people expect, and many drummers wear ear protection by choice.

​If you are very sensitive to sound, please consider whether this particular event is right for you; our other music programming may be a better fit.

​You are always welcome to play quietly, sit out a round, or step away for a break. You may also leave before the end of the event if you feel satisfied or overstimulated. We ask that you let ATX NCC staff know if you will be late or decide to leave early.

​Support persons are welcome, but please RSVP separately. The location is ground level, but the restrooms are small and not wheelchair accessible.
