About Event

A monthly morning for brands and content creators to connect properly. Live podcast recording, real introductions, and goodie bags for our fabulous audience. Hosted by Sassy Talent. Peckham.

Panelists: Nkenna Akunna and Karimah Hassan - two pioneers of storytelling talking about building bodies of work: writing, identity, and self-authorship.

Tired of cold DMs that go nowhere?

Sassy Salon is a monthly networking event for brands and content creators in London — bringing the right people into the same room so the conversations that usually take months of outreach can happen over a coffee instead.

Hosted by Sassy Talent, each session brings together approximately 30 brands and online content creators for a focused morning of panel discussion, structured introductions, and genuine connection. No pitch decks. No hard sell. Just the room.

This Month's Panel: Nkenna Akunna and Karimah Hassan

Our fourth Sassy Salon features a conversation with:

Nkenna Akunna is a playwright, screenwriter, and performer from London whose work explores power and sociality. She is the writer of Some of Us Exist in the Future, her debut play and winner of the Papatango New Writing Prize, cheeky little brown, a solo musical that opened at Bristol Old Vic and toured the UK to critical acclaim. Nkenna is currently writing multiple scripts for screen.

Alongside her writing, Nkenna has built experience as a culture producer, having co-directed and served as lead editor at Skin Deep, a collective that makes space for Black creatives and creatives of colour through cultural production.

Karimah Hassan is a multidisciplinary artist, poet, and painter, working across canvas, verse, and the modelling frame as different expressions of the same creative instinct.

She trained as an architect before moving into painting and has since gone on to collaborate with institutions including The Barbican and Burberry, with exhibitions including Her-Story at Maddox Gallery, a solo show at Sarabande Foundation, and a residency at The Standard NYC, where storytelling, community, and self-portraiture remain a common thread.

Karimah is a believer in art as connection - bringing people together through immersive showcases that blend live painting, spoken word, and open mic sessions, where the boundaries between artist, subject, and audience dissolve into shared experience. She continues to move fluidly between page, canvas, and camera, treating each as another language for the same story.

Who This Is For

Brands looking to connect with content creators and cultural voices in niches that are hard to reach through traditional outreach - beauty, lifestyle, fashion, culture, film, and beyond.

Content creators and cultural producers ready to meet brands directly and gain real insight into how commissioning, casting, and brand partnerships actually work.

You do not need to be signed to an agency to attend. Sassy Salon is an open space for anyone working at the intersection of brand and creator culture who wants to do things differently.
