"Stop The Bleed" Training, hosted by Magnolia Emergency Hubs and Seattle Office of Emergency Management
If a bleeding emergency happened and you were the first person there, would you know what to do?
It could happen anytime and anywhere: at your workplace or at the game, during your commute, or at your house.
This Stop the Bleed training will equip participants with the knowledge to save lives. It's led by volunteer EMTs, nurses, and physicians and includes hand-on practice sessions.
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
(1) Describe the progressive strategy for controlling hemorrhage
(2) Demonstrate wound packing and learn about topical hemostatic dressings
(3) Explain the rationale for early use of a tourniquet for life-threatening extremity bleeding
(4) Demonstrate the appropriate application of a tourniquet to the arm and leg
This class is free, and scheduled to run for 60 minutes. It includes hands-on practice, so class size is limited. Registration is required.
Hosted by Magnolia Emergency Hubs, in conjunction with Seattle Office of Emergency Management (OEM).
