Session 2: GRLI Deans & Directors Cohort (Virtual) — Wise Innovation
GRLI Deans & Directors Cohort (Virtual) — Wise Innovation
Hosted by SP Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) | Convened & facilitated by GRLI
In a world of rapid technological change and complex societal challenges, business schools are being asked to innovate boldly—without worsening the very problems we aim to solve. This Deans & Directors Cohort virtual gathering uses Wise Innovation as a shared point of departure: innovation pursued for the right reasons and carried out in the right way, grounded in context-sensitive judgment under uncertainty.
As SPJIMR frames it, wise innovation goes beyond novelty and asks leaders to consider impact on people, planet, and profit.
What this is (and isn’t)
This is a peer-learning collaboratory for Deans/Directors—not a webinar, panel, or pre-designed programme. The “content” comes from participants’ real questions, initiatives, tensions, and possibilities for collaboration.
Two live options (choose one but if possible join both)
To accommodate global time zones, we will hold two 90-minute live sessions, with an edited recording + curated “what we heard” brief shared in between so Session 2 can build forward.
Session 1 (Europe/APAC-friendly anchor): Tue 7 Apr 2026 — 07:00 UTC (12:30 IST)
Session 2 (Americas-friendly + Europe workable): Thu 9 Apr 2026 — 14:30 UTC (20:00 IST)
Europe/Africa can typically join either. Many in the Americas will prefer Session 2; many in APAC will prefer Session 1. A small overlap group will join both to help continuity.
What to expect (highly interactive)
Brief welcome from Dean Varun Nagaraj (SPJIMR) and context-setting from GRLI
Breakout introductions (Whole Person, “I” lens)
SPJIMR Wise Innovation viewing point (short input woven into dialogue)
Fishbowl conversation (Deans in dialogue, others step in)
Second breakout to translate insights into collaboration strands (“We / All of Us”)
Plenary harvesting, commitments, and next-step convening
What we’ll ask you to bring
When you register, you’ll be invited to share:
a short whole-person bio (a few lines), and
your objective / live question for this gathering (Wise Innovation in your context).
By mid-March, we will share a compiled set of participant profiles (from registrations) with confirmed participants to help:
build energy and connections ahead of the sessions, and
support any collaboration strands that emerge.
Registration
Participation is free. Registration is now open and during February we will collect profiles via this link:

In-person touchpoint (optional)
If you are attending the EFMD Deans Conference in Vienna (first week of February), Varun Nagaraj and John North (GRLI) will both be present and happy to speak informally with prospective participants.
Who should attend: Deans, Directors, and equivalent senior leaders in business/management education (with select learning partners by arrangement).
