​A dating experiment inspired by Love Is Blind

​Can you feel attracted to someone before you see them?

​Inspired by Love Is Blind, we’re bringing the idea to Berlin for one evening.
No swiping. No first impressions based on appearance. No photos.
Instead, you’ll meet people through conversation first, and blindfolded.

​For around 2-3 hours, you’ll take part in a guided dating experiment exploring what happens when physical appearance is temporarily taken out of the equation. Curious to find out?

​How it works

​01 — Apply

​Fill out the application form here on Luma and tell us a little about yourself and what you’re looking for.
Please also share your Instagram account. We use it only to verify that the account is authentic and to confirm eligibility for the event.

​02 — Get selected

​Our participants are carefully curated for each edition.
Alessia, a couples therapist and compatibility researcher, will review the applications and select the participants for this first event.

​Not selected this time? Don’t worry - we’ll be hosting future editions and you may be invited to a different one.

​03 — Meet without seeing

​You’ll have a series of 5-minute conversations with potential partners - without seeing them.
You’ll be blindfolded during each conversation so you can focus 100% on the conversation and how you feel around the person.

​Talk about whatever you want. Ask questions. Laugh. Flirt. Be curious.

​There’s just one rule:
No talking about physical appearance.
No height, hair colour, eye colour, body type or descriptions of what you look like.

​04 — Take a moment

​After the conversations, you’ll have some time to reflect.
Not to rate anyone. Or to choose “the one.” Or to find out who you’re supposedly compatible with.

​Just to notice yourself.

​Who did you feel drawn to? Who made you curious? Who made you feel comfortable? What did you notice about yourself?

​05 — The reveal

​Finally, you’ll see each other.

​You can talk face-to-face, have a drink, listen to music and see what happens when the visual enters the picture.

​There is no right outcome.
Maybe your feelings stay exactly the same. Maybe they change completely. Maybe you surprise yourself.
That’s the experiment :)

​Alessia, couples therapist, relationship psychologist and researcher specialising in compatibility.

​Together, they’ll guide you through an evening somewhere between dating, social experiment and self-discovery.

​Who is it for?

• ​Singles aged approximately 22–35

• ​International and Berlin-based participants

• ​The event is entirely in English

• ​This first edition is designed for heterosexual dating

• ​Places are limited and carefully selected

​Important: this is an application-based event.
Applying does not automatically guarantee you a spot.

​We’ll review all applications and select a limited number of participants. If selected, you’ll receive an invitation by email.

​If selected, you’ll have 3 days to confirm your spot and pay the €25 ticket.

​If we don’t hear from you within those 3 days, your spot will automatically be released.
