Summer Writing Retreat with Douglas Rushkoff and David Rock
THE BIG IDEA
This is a 7-day intensive writing journey for those wanting to accelerate their focus on any kind of writing project or improve their approach. For anyone working on a book, screen play, digital content play, or any bigger writing project.
Led by two seasoned authors, Douglas Rushkoff (22 books, 5 graphic novels, and 6 documentaries) and David Rock (5 books, dozens of research papers, hundreds of mainstream blog posts), the experience involves daily quiet focus on your own projects, with evenings together to brainstorm, share ideas and learn from each other. Plus some engaging conversations facilitated by Douglas and David. All in an inspiring nature setting and unique architect-designed dome-home. With the use of two Jacuzzis, a sauna, a four person hyperbaric chamber, 30 acres of private walking trails and more.
The goal is to help everyone - at all levels of experience - get a lot of focused writing time, while also improving and expanding their approach to the craft. Conversations will focus on the motivations, creative processes and even the neuroscience involved in great writing.

The event is happening less than 2 hours north of Manhattan at the Round House - see https://www.roundhousefarms.org/.
Accessible by car, uber, bus or train. Participants will have access to a four person hyperbaric chamber, sauna and jacuzzi, walks in nature, gardening, and time cooking together led by a professional chef.
You'll be inspired by the incredible architecture, the woods and mountains, and delicious healthy food straight from the organic gardens.
WHO
Douglas Rushkoff is the author of 22 books and a lot more thought pieces on the role of technology in our lives.
David Rock is the author of 5 books, and hundreds of papers and articles on the connections between neuroscience and the world of work. He leads neuroleadership.com. He also leads a literary agency, Round House Literary Agency www.rhliterary.com
COSTS
Attendance is by application and is limited to 20 people.
Confirming prior to May 30, the cost is $895 for seven days including accommodations and all meals, though not including alcoholic drinks (BYO). For applications after May 30, price goes up to $1,295 for the week.
A three-day option is currently available for $495, either for the weekend or week days, this goes up to $695 for applications after May 30.
A non-refundable deposit of $200 is required to secure place, after you have been selected to attend.
SCHOLARSHIPS
David and Douglas are subsidizing a couple of 50% and 100% scholarships available to newer writers, or those wishing to be on the support team. Apply to attend to start that process.
